Ejari registration explained

What Ejari is, why you need it, and how MAK Homes registers your tenancy.

Ejari ("my neighbour" in Arabic) is the Dubai Land Department system for registering tenancy contracts. Every tenancy in Dubai must be registered in Ejari. It is needed to connect DEWA electricity and water, sponsor family visas, and settle any dispute at the Rental Dispute Centre.

How MAK Homes handles Ejari

  • We register your Ejari for you within 3 working days of receiving your signed tenancy contract, security deposit and rent cheques.
  • The fee is AED 220 and is added to your move-in invoice.
  • Your Ejari certificate is emailed to you as a PDF, and the Ejari number is printed on it (for example 0124-2025-118452).

Documents we need

  1. The signed tenancy contract
  2. Passport and residence visa copies
  3. Emirates ID (front and back)
  4. The title deed number of the unit (we already have this)

Renewing Ejari

Ejari must be renewed every time your lease is renewed. The fee is AED 220, and we register it as soon as your renewal contract is signed and the new cheques are received.
